A green field site of approximately 30 acres which the local authority had not identified as a possible development site at the Local Plan Review. City & Provincialover a period of approximately three years continued to promote the site and appeared as an objector at the Public Enquiry of the Unitary Plan. The Inspector concurred that the site should be included within the review and planning permission was eventually obtained for 250 residential units. The site was subsequently developed by Barratts.
